Statement On Anti-LGBTQ Protesters
September 8, 2024 -
To my fellow Jesstopians,
I was just made aware of a shooting that claimed the lives of 20 people outside of the New Shire State capitol. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and friends, and my sincerest condolences go out to anyone impacted by this horrific shooting.
First and foremost, I have always been against any form of violence, and today’s tragic shooting is no exception. While these twenty human beings were protesting something that I strongly support, their deaths should never have happened. We do not live in communist country, or a country that lacks laws that are designed to maintain law and order, as well as safety.
The shooter's actions today are a reminder to all of us that this country is stronger as one, and not divided. The shooter had no right to shoot and kill anybody, nor did the protesters deserve to lose their lives due to a disagreement in ideals. The shooter should be charged and sentenced to the fullest extent of the law.
Furthermore, we are lowering flags in honor of each victim. I have been briefed by the Defense and Homeland Security department that they do not believe that a credible threat exists to the country or any official or citizen of this country.
Therefore, I will try to provide as many regular updates as possible. Please watch for statements as they are released here.
Signed,
John McCallum
President Of The United States Of Jesstopia
