Cole Bindle was born on September 26, 1949 in Ashburn, Mesa. He was born to parents, Dianne Shaw-Bindle and Scott Bindle. He has 6 brothers. In Ashburn, he established connections with local politicians through his work at food banks, working to establish homeless shelters, soup kitchens and other programs to the homeless. He graduated from Ashburn Valley High School.
Previously, Bindle served as the 1st Senator for Mesa's new 15th Senate District from 2011 until 2023. He previously served as a Mesa State Senator from Mesa's 9th Senate district from 1985 until 2011. Prior to his role representing Mesa's 9th District. he served as a Senator for Mesa's 12th Senate district from 1972 until 1985, and then as a Senator for Mesa's 11th Senate district. From 1985 until 1991, Bindle served as the Senate Minority Whip and then as the Senate Minority whip from 1995 until 2005.
