Statement By President Laylin On Pause To Ukraine Sanctions
March 19, 2025 - Ukraine is continuing its efforts to peacefully end the war with Russia and I have seen that they are trying to end the conflict. Furthermore, I am announcing pauses on sanctions against Ukraine. However, sanctions and tariffs are not completely off the table and Ukraine must continue to push for peace with Russia and if it stalls or begins slipping off the "gas pedal", we will issue hard hitting sanctions against the country.
President Zelenskyy's behavior in the White House earlier this month shadowed his countries chances to agree to peace with Russia, all while Russia was looking for a peace agreement. Liberals and their attempts to call the meeting's failures the fault of President Trump and Vice President Vance showcases the left's attempts to keep the war going.
But as Zelenskyy continues speaking with foreign leaders about military aid, he has come to the table and says he is ready to sit down and talk with Russia, the US and come to a tentative agreement to end the war. This will help ensure we can restore peace and strength back to both countries.
However, Ukraine must continue to be willing to accept that it will not be restored to pre-invasion Ukraine and must concede land to Russia. Russia must also be willingly to ensure that it won't attempt another invasion of Ukraine. Russia isn't innocent in this invasion and I as well as the rest of this country understand that Russia must be held to account, but negotiations must take precedence to stop any further killings of Russians or Ukrainians.
Ukraine must concede that it won't have its existing territories and must commit to repaying back its debt to the US and the countries who provided financial support including our own country. The US-Ukraine minerals deal is a discount from the money it owes the US, and on the front of our country, we must continue to ensure we are getting paid back. In total, Ukraine owes the United States Of Jesstopia over 110 billion dollars in aid, equipment and machinery that was not a gift but a military loan.
Sanctions will be starved off until negotiations by Ukraine slow and stall. We must continue to ensure they play a crucial role in negotiating for peace, and if that stops, we will reintroduce sanctions against them.
Signed,
Jay Laylin
President Of The United States Of Jesstopia
