Flag Status

The current Flag Status is used on this website to determine if the Jesstopian flag is flown at half staff or full staff, and indicates that a somber event took place or is used to honor those who served. This webpage will also provide indepth details of why the flag is at half staff.

March 31, 2025 - President Jay Laylin through executive proclamation 034927, the President orders as follows:

1. All Jesstopian flags on ALL government buildings be lowered to half staff from March 31, 2025, at 1:00 AM until the internment of the Honorable Matthew Carrington, who served as the 33rd Speaker Of The House and Representative of the House Of The People. 

2. Authorizing the execution of state funeral plans for Speaker Matthew Carrington to begin promptly with his Lying in State at the Capitol building starting at 7:00 AM with viewing available to the public.
